Day 1: Fes → Ifrane → Cedar Forest → Ziz Valley → Merzouga

We depart Fes in the morning, traveling through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Our first stop is Ifrane, known as “Morocco’s Switzerland” for its alpine architecture. We continue to the Cedar Forest to observe wild Barbary macaques in their natural habitat. Descending through the stunning Ziz Valley with its endless palm groves, we reach Merzouga by evening where you’ll spend the night in a comfortable hotel, preparing for tomorrow’s desert adventure.

Day 2: Merzouga Desert Exploration & Luxury Camp

After breakfast, we explore the desert surroundings – visiting nomadic families to learn about their traditional lifestyle and stopping at Khamlia village for authentic Gnawa music. In the afternoon, embark on a magical camel trek across the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. Watch the sunset from the high dunes before arriving at our luxury desert camp. Enjoy a traditional Berber dinner under the stars, accompanied by live music around the campfire.

Day 3: Merzouga → Ouzina → Ramlia → Tafraoute Sidi Ali

Today’s off-road adventure follows the historic Paris-Dakar Rally route through stunning desert landscapes. Visit remote villages like Ouzina and Ramlia, experiencing genuine Saharan hospitality with tea in a Berber home. Arrive in Tafraoute Sidi Ali in time to witness a spectacular sunset over the orange dunes before checking into your desert hotel.

Day 4: Tafraoute → Todra Gorges → Dades Valley

We journey west through changing landscapes to the magnificent Todra Gorge, where 300-meter-high cliffs tower above a winding river – perfect for a refreshing walk. Continue to the dramatic Dades Valley, known for its surreal rock formations nicknamed “Monkey Fingers”. Spend the night in a valley hotel with stunning canyon views.

Day 5: Dades Valley → Valley of Roses → Skoura → Ouarzazate

Morning visit to Dades Gorges before traveling through the fragrant Valley of Roses (especially beautiful in May). Explore the lush Skoura Oasis and its impressive Amridil Kasbah, a fine example of traditional earthen architecture. Arrive in Ouarzazate – “Morocco’s Hollywood” – visiting the Atlas Film Studios and Taourirt Kasbah before overnight.

Day 6: Ouarzazate → Ait Ben Haddou → High Atlas → Marrakech

Final day begins at UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou, the most famous ksar in Morocco and backdrop for many films. Cross the High Atlas Mountains via the spectacular Tizi n’Tichka pass (2,260m), with stops for photos of Berber villages. Arrive in Marrakech by afternoon where your tour concludes.
